Chameleon Arts Orchestra at the Thaxted Festival

    Wednesday 21st of July 2010, 10:29 AM

Sunday 11th July 2010 witnessed another successful concert with the Chameleon Arts Orchestra, this time at the 2010 Thaxted Festival with Saffron Walden Choral Society.  In a first half directed by Andrew Phillips, the orchestra played pieces by Mendelssohn and Fauré, including the beautiful Pavane and the Hebrides Overture and accompanied the choir in Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine and Mendelssohn's Verleih uns Frieden.  In the second half, conducted by the choir's musical director Janet Wheeler and with Chameleon soloists Naomi Harvey and Andrew Mayor, a moving account of Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem was given.  Judith Hasler, Chairman of SWCS wrote afterwards:-
"I am writing on behalf of Saffron Walden Choral Society for all you did to make Sunday's concert such a success.  As we have come to expect, the Chameleon Arts Orchestra performed to the highest standard and were a delight to sing with.  Please pass on our thanks to the players and also to our two soloists Andrew and Naomi.   We have received much appreciative feedback from audience members, many of whom were overwhelmed with the emotion of the music."
