Charlotte Newstead & John Marsh

Since graduating with a Masters degree from the University of Bristol, Charlotte has built a busy career as a concert soprano.  Recent performances have taken her to St Martin in the Fields, The Temple Church and Greenwich Theatre, Bristol Cathedral, Bath Abbey, the Colston Hall and in March 2009 to Salisbury Cathedral where she performed Strauss' Four Last Songs.

John Marsh was born and educated in Bristol and won an organ scholarship to Trinity College Cambridge.  After graduation he taught briefly in Kent and then joined the music staff of Clifton College in his native city.  In 1980 he was appointed choirmaster of St Mary Redcliffe, where he had been a boy chorister, subsequently becoming Organist and Director of Music from 1987 to 1994.  In 1996 he was appointed organist and choirmaster of Bristol's Lord Mayor's Chapel.  A popular and versatile musician and composer, John is much in demand as a freelance conductor, pianist, organist, accompanist and adjudicator.
