Orpheus and Andrea perform regularly in London, throughout the UK and Europe. Internationally they have given concerts in Spain and Slovakia and look forward to upcoming recitals in Greece and across the Mediterranean. As regular artists for Music in Hospitals they perform in care homes and hospitals throughout the UK bringing the joy of music to a wider audience. They love to perform folk inspired music from Central Europe and the Balkans, music full of rhythmic drive and excitement.
Orpheus Papafilippou is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music. His violin has taken him to Greece, Spain, Slovakia, Australia, China, Korea and throughout the UK, including appearances in the Queen Elizabeth Hall, St Martin in the Fields and a performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons in St James Piccadilly. Orpheus is the winner of the Concerto competition at the Richmond Music Festival and the Silver Medal at the Marlow Music Festival. He is the leader and founder of the Orfeas String Quartet & Ensemble and the London European Orchestra. He has appeared on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and recorded for BBC radio.
Slovakian pianist Andrea Kmecová is a graduate from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and Trinity College of Music in London, where she was awarded the Principal's Prize and Lilliann Ash French Song Prize . She has given concerts in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Spain and the UK. Recent highlights include performing for the Queen of Spain in the Royal Palace in Madrid and on the BBC 2 programme 'Maestro'.
